Katarina served as a dedicated youth minister, working at six churches in Galveston, Texas, before she was tragically killed in 2019. Her acts of compassion that included giving the shoes off her feet to a homeless woman, moved many throughout her life.
She spoke gently, lived humbly, gave freely, and greeted the world with joy long before attending the University of Notre Dame, which continued until she was called to heaven.
Her final act of kindness, was placing a letter of encouragement under the door of every 'Echo' Program student at the University of Notre Dame Theology Program reunion while they were sleeping -- the same two-year Theology graduate Master's program of which she was an alum -- on the morning of her accident.
The Katarina Goitz Foundation is dedicated to carrying on her mission of teaching and inspiring young people about the joy of Jesus' message by providing others with opportunities to know God.
With clear example of how Katarina lived, we strive to be centered in the Eucharistic heart of Jesus, to bring young people to know Christ, and to inspire and serve like Him.
We are supporting youth ministers in their faith formation by providing funding for training, materials for their youth groups, retreats, and conferences.
We are supporting youth by providing funding for retreats and summer camps and other experiences where they may encounter the Lord.
