Our Mission

The Katarina Goitz Foundation for Youth and Young Adult Ministry is a nonprofit (501c3) dedicated to carrying on Katarina's mission of teaching and inspiring young people about the joy of Jesus' message of love, by providing them with opportunities to know God.

We support youth ministers in their faith formation by providing funding for training and materials for their youth groups, retreats, and conferences and continuing education.

We support youth and young adults by providing funding for retreats, summer camps, regular faith-based discussions, and other experiences where they may encounter the Lord.

With clear examples of how Katarina lived, we strive to be centered in the Eucharistic heart of Jesus, to bring young people to know Christ, and to inspire and serve like Him.

A snapshot of what katarina youth ministry has done

Corazon Puro

We provided funding for young Hispanic adults form St Anne's Church in Detroit to travel to New York for training them to teach about Theology of the Body, Corazon Puro in order to bring the program to Detroit youth.

High school and Middle school Curriculum and Books

Provided funding for the curriculum and books for confirmation and high school programs for Christ the King Parish in Ann Arbor, and for the middle school Edge program for Our Lady Star of The Sea.

High school 5 day University Faith Experience

We sent Michigan High school students to Notre Dame Vision's lively summer experience designed to help participants to discover and renew God's call in their lives. This summer experience was very crucial to the development of Katarina's faith!

Summer Mission trips

We provided funding for a Notre Dame Echo youth minister's program and curriculum in Meadville PA and also sent 8 of the youth on a mission trip to the Catholic Heart Work Camp in Michigan. "6 of the 8 kids told us they did not want to be there. By the 4th day of the trip all the boys were rushing to the stage for praise and worship and we were able to dig deeper and deeper during our breakout sessions. One of our kids had not gone to confession in years and went and shared how much it changed him. this momentum has carried into this year and our programs are stronger than ever. We are hoping to take the kids back on mission trip and we have many families with financial difficulties that want to send their kids."

Renewal Ministires

Provided funding for Ann Arbor high school youth discerning the priesthood and seeking to do missionary work with Renewal Ministries

Young Adult Ministry

Helped a young adult ministry program for sharing faith at the Waterloo Iowa Catholic Parishes by providing funding for them to attend a 5 day faith enrichment program at the SEEK FOCUS conference (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) along with almost 20,000 young people in attendance

Brave the Wilderness summer camps

We provided assistance for the Holy Family Parish high school by supplementing the group's fundraising efforts to allow 22 students to go to The Brave the Wilderness Youth summer camp and retreat for middle school and high school students.

Life Teen

We supported Life Teen annually in their efforts to develop more summer camps and to help youth be able to afford to attend.

Young Life

Funding provided for Young Life summer camp Scholarships for Athletes

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

We supported annual fund raising efforts to provide scholarships for Michigan chapter of FCA athletes wishing to attend faith based summer athletic camps

Conference for our seminarians to reach our youth

Provided partial funding to enable 16 seminarians to attend 5 day SEEK FOCUS conference to better train them to reach our youth and young adults
